Biography
Graduate of the Faculty of Graphic Arts, Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. Scholarship holder of the Joan Miro Foundation/Spain, winner of the fourth edition of the Young Poland scholarship program of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage and a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage. She is a multimedia artist. She works in printmaking, painting, video and installation. In 2013, she opened Viola Tycz's Studio/Gallery, which was modernized and renovated under the European Union Funds. She has won many awards and prizes in Poland and abroad (e.g. 3rd prize Bosco Stregato 2009, International Exlibris Competition, Italy; Concorso Internazionale Exlibristico, Sculture e Brevi novelle "Il Bosco Stregato" distinction Solstizio d'Estate Bosia, Italy). In 2014, the artist's paintings were auctioned at Christie's Auction House in London. Sotheby's Auction House funded a scholarship to the artist for her unconventional printmaking techniques. Her works are in the collections of the National Museum in Warsaw, the National Museum in Cracow, the Contemporary Museum in Wroclaw, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Triennial of Graphics in Cracow and private collections, among others.
