Karolina Jabłońska b. 1991, Niedomice
From 2010 to 2015 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow at the Faculty of Painting in the studio of Prof. Leszek Misiak. Co-founder of Potencja gallery in Krakow and the art magazine "Łałok".
Winner of the second prize of the Bielska Jesień biennale of painting (2017), prize of the Lower Silesian Capital Club in the 12th Geppert Competition (2016).
She lives and works in Cracow.
Karolina Jablonska's work is one of the most prominent examples of contemporary art, which reflects the states and anxieties of the younger generation. The heroes of the artist's paintings are ordinary teenagers and young people, whose everyday life consists of parties, fights, complicated relationships with peers and struggles for their own. We observe the scenes in close frame, bodies, as if made of rubber, in tense. Expressive gestures and gazes, framed in intense neon colors, make Jablonska's works stay with the viewer for a long time.
