Joanna Srebro (1932-2006) - one of the most well-known and distinctive figures of Tarnów's artistic community.
She completed her artistic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, where she received her diploma under Prof. Waclaw Taranczewski in 1962. After her studies, she returned to her native Tarnów and settled there with her husband Piotr Drobiecki (d. 2003), also a painter. From the beginning she was an independent artist, creating her own visions. In no period of her painting did she succumb to the trends dominating art or commercialization, but remained faithful to her way of looking at the world. She was an outstanding and original artist.
