Joanna Srebro (1932-2006) - one of the forerunners of the so-called hot (expressive) abstraction in Poland. She completed her artistic studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, in 1962 she received her diploma under Prof. Waclaw Taranczewski. From the beginning she was an independent artist, creating her own visions. In no period of her painting did she succumb to the trends dominating art or commercialization, but remained faithful to her way of looking at the world. She was an outstanding and original artist.
