Artist after the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. He painted portraits, historical and genre scenes.
Oriental themes often appeared in his work. He was the son of photographer Stevan Jovanovic and his wife Ernestina [1] . After graduating from high school in 1877, he went to Vienna, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts, in the class of Professor Kristian Gripenkerl He created portraits, historical and genre scenes. He painted portraits of rulers (including Franz Joseph I) and the aristocracy. Other paintings include: "Cockfight", "Tak's Uprising". His works and portraits of Balkan and Middle Eastern subjects were highly regarded.
