Initially a monthly, later a weekly, published in 1945-50; in 1950 the weekly was merged with the weekly "Odrodzenie" as a result of this merger the weekly "Nowa Kultura" was created. Editor-in-chief - Stefan Żółkiewski, Zofia Nałkowska, Mieczysław Jastrun, Jan Kott, Adolf Rudnicki collaborated with the magazine. The cover was designed by Eryk Lipinski.
From the introduction: "Our team represents that wing of co-creators of Polish culture and therefore of the future of the nation, whose attitude is defined by the radicalism of progressive Polish thought. We grow out of the same soil from which, 150 years ago, the Polish Enlightenment and Jacobinism of Kołłątaj and Staszic, Jezierski and Jasieński arose. Hence, referring to national sources, we bring back to life "Kuźnica."
