A collection of articles and other materials from the London archives of Andrzej Zaremba

[MILITARY, uniforms]. Collection of articles, excerpts, press clippings other handwritten and reproduced texts concerning uniforms mainly of the Polish army, from the London archive of Andrzej Zaremba.
Overall good condition. The collection consists of:
1. folder "The Coronation Sword of Sigismund the Old" (here, among others, A. Zaremba's text "The Sword of Sigismund the Old, the so-called second coronation sword of Polish kings" (7 k., author's signature), a manuscript "Statement" containing a report on the inspection of the sword at the Victoria and Albert Museum in V 1951, 6 photographs of the sword and several duplicates, 3 cards with pencil sketches)
2. folder "Legions Polonaises au Service de France" (here, among other things, handwritten excerpts from printed sources, copies of manuscript documents, lists of officers' names, bibliographical notes, and several uniform sketches)
3. folder "Pedigrees of Polish Regiments" (here a text by Jan Benda (original typescript and photocopy) "Pedigrees of Polish Regiments from 1717 to 1794 signed by the author (p. 39))
4. folder "Cheval Legers of the Guard" (contains, among other things: personal rosters, photocopies of tables from Krasinski's "Essai sur le maniement de la lance" from 1811, clippings from Polish and foreign press, extracts from printed sources, several detailed descriptions of elements of uniforms)
5. folder "Garde Imperiale (Régiment Polonais)" (here, among other things: typed "Note on the case of the squadron from Elba" (k. 10), numerous handwritten copies of documents, a separate sheet "Escadron des Tartares Lithuaniens")
6. folder "Nadwiślańska Legia" (contains, among other things: numerous typed, handwritten and duplicated copies of documents, an excerpt from an article by A. Zaremba "Nadwiślańska Legia" from "Broni i Barwy", personnel lists, photocopies of articles and excerpts from books)
7. folder "7-eme et 8-eme Regiments des Lanciers francais" (here, among other things: manuscript copies of documents, photocopies of excerpts from books and articles, clippings from the emigration press, sketches of elements of the uniform; also materials on the Nadwiślańska Legion)
8. file "Kosciuszko and Pulaski" (consisting of two parts: "Casimir Pulaski in America and his Legion" and "Kosciuszko and Pulaski"; here, among others, English-language letters to A. Zaremba, press clippings (texts and iconography), a copy of a letter from B. Gembarzewski, one color drawing of "Lancer Pulaski Legion", photocopies of book articles, chronological lists, extensive manuscript biographical article on Pulaski)
9. folder "Announcements of the Stow. Miłośników Dawnej Broni i Bar wy" (here "Announcements" of the Stow. Miłośników Dawnej Broni i Barwy in Kraków: 21 announcements without number (from 10 June 1963 to 31 December 1968), announcements Nos. 23-32 (31 March 1969-28 February 1974 - here several issues in photocopies), typewritten "Informator" of 31 December 1976, duplicated "Informator" of 29 February 1980, article by S. Gepner "New materials for the colors of Lithuanian cavalry regiments from 1812-1814, 3 duplicated communications).
In addition, the group includes clippings and copies of illustrations of uniforms (separately: Poland XVIII century, 1815-1863, Cheval Legers of the Guard), several issues of periodicals, photocopies of extensive fragments of books. The assemblage presented here counts more than 1,600 printed or written sheets. The material is unordered and divided into thematic groups.
