Second edition. A drama considered one of the most important works of the Young Poland era, in which Wyspianski alluded to an authentic event, the wedding of poet Lucjan Rydel to Jadwiga Mikołajczykówna. The wedding took place in the manor house of Włodzimierz Tetmajer, in Bronowice, near Krakow.
