Julian Bartoszewicz's book contains very detailed descriptions of twenty-four Warsaw churches from the time of their establishment to the author's contemporary times. Bartoszewicz described with great reverence the development of the buildings, their reconstructions and the greatest benefactors of each church, as well as the important people buried in them. As a trained historian and a passionate varsavianist, he had all the knowledge and tools needed to do so.
The book is decorated with extremely beautiful, highly detailed woodcuts by Michael Storkman. The whole creates an extremely interesting historical description not only of the churches themselves, but also of the capital's society over the centuries. This book will certainly appeal to historians and lovers of Warsaw.
