Lives of the Holy Martyrs of the Church collected in chronological order by the Author Father Thierry Ruinart (1657-1709), a Benedictine monk of the congregation of St. Maur. The work begins with the martyrdom of St. James, as the first bishop of Jerusalem. Of the more famous Martyr Saints, the lives of Saints Ignatius of Antioch, Polycarp, Felicitas, Lawrence, Felix, etc. are described.
