OPPMAN Artur (OR-OT) - Handwritten dedication by the writer to his son Waclaw (b. 1893) on the back of the frontispiece accompanying "Songs of Fame", 1917, dated. 22 II 1919 in Warsaw.
Frontiscript form. 19x13.5 cm in supported passe-partout. Under the composition facsimile of the poet's signature. On the reverse, handwritten dedication in ink: "To Waci Oppman his dearest son is sent by his father Artur Oppman who loves him with all his heart. 22 II 1919. Warsaw." Corners slightly damaged, otherwise good condition.
A. Oppman (1867-1931) - poet of the Young Poland period using the pseudonym "Or-Ot", publicist, varsavianist, in 1901-1905 editor of the weekly "Wędrowiec", and in 1918-1920 editor of "Tygodnik Ilustrowany". He enlisted in the army in 1920, and was appointed editor-in-chief of "Polish Soldier" in II 1921. In. l. 1923-1924 at the Military Scientific and Publishing Institute in Warsaw. On 31 III 1924 he was promoted to lieutenant colonel of education. In 1925 he was retired.
