Kazmierz Glinski was a Polish poet, playwright and novelist. He came from an impoverished landowning family. He attended the historical and philological department of Jagiellonian University. He wrote historical novels, dramas and collections of poetry, which he initially printed in the Krakow magazine "Kalina" and the Lviv-based "Strzywa." His exemplary works include "Recollection of the Tatra Mountains: from dreams of the gray hour," "Boruta. A Novel from the Old Years," "Ost Ostrzeżenica," and "Niekrasicki's Fairy Tales." The most popular poems are considered to be: "Winter", "Czyżyki", "Nadwiślańska poplar", "On the ruins of Czersk", "when spring comes" and many others.
