Blackened wood, silk; length 38.5 cm, unfolded 71 cm
On the feathers of the fan painted coats of arms of Poland and Lithuania from the November Uprising. Around the coats of arms laurel leaves fastened by a chain with shackles. The symbolism of the composition refers to the text of "Warszawianka," a patriotic song from 1831, whose fifth stanza with the words "Rise Poland, break the chains/Today your triumph or your death" is a call to arms and an assurance of victory.
