Henry the Bearded prince of Szlązki built here r. 1228 a fortified town called Długa Skała. Boleslaw the Shy turned the fortress into a monastery and gave it to his sister Salomea, widow of Koloman, King of Halych. Here in the convent of the Poor Clares Salomea spent the last seven years of her holy life, here she died r. 1267 and was counted among the Saints. Drawn from nature by Napoleon Orda.
