Mieczysław Wejman (born May 19, 1912 in Brdów, died November 27, 1997 in Kraków) - Polish graphic artist and painter. Professor, rector of the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow, co-founder of the International Triennial (then Biennale) of Graphic Arts.Graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts - diploma under Mieczyslaw Kotarbinski (1939) and the Cracow Academy of Fine Arts - diploma in painting (1946) under Felicjan Szczęsny Kowarski.He is considered to be the initiator of the metaphorical printmaking trend, distinguishing the "Cracow school of printmaking.Member of the Cracow GROUP OF DAUGHTERS of printmakers, bringing together the most prominent representatives of Polish wood engraving in postwar Poland.
