Jerzy Bandura (born October 14, 1915 in Chabówka, died October 19, 1987 in Cracow) - Polish sculptor, graphic artist, medalist.He was a student of Xawery Dunikowski. The range of the artist's interests was very wide.
Since 1947, he belonged to the Cracow GROUP OF NINE GRAPHICIAN ARTISTS, bringing together the most prominent representatives of Polish wood engraving in postwar Poland.He created woodcuts and ex-libris.In 1947, he received an award in an international competition for a poster on the theme of the United Nations. He created medallic works, designs for furniture, stained glass and mosaics. He created sculptures on sports and sacred themes. Mainly, however, he was known as a creator of monumental sculptures and monuments.
