Painter and printmaker; studied at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow (with J. Pankiewicz, whom he later collaborated with); practiced a variety of graphic techniques: copperplate (Adam and Eve, 1914), etching, aquatint, lithography (portfolio Autolitographs, 1909; Ruins by the Pond, 1911; portfolio Cracow, 1911), eagerly depicted views of cities, including Cracow and Gdansk.including Krakow and Gdansk; he produced nudes (Nude of a Lying Woman, 1912), portraits (Model Woman, 1918; Self-Portrait, 1935), allegorical (Idyll, 1920) and religious scenes (Pieta, 1914), landscapes (Landscape, 1909), especially urban (Corpus Christi Church in Krakow, 1930s), and still lifes (Sunflowers, 1909).
