Polish language, handwritten autograph of the bishop. A worshipful letter from the former Bishop of Vilna, A.S. Krasinski (1810-1891), who was exiled during the January Uprising to Viatka for almost 20 years. Since he was forbidden to stay in Vilnius he settled in Krakow in a Piarist monastery where he wrote scientific papers on Polish philology. The addressee of the letter is Deotyma (Jadwiga Łuszczewska [1834-1908]), famous in her era, a poet and bard who improvised patriotic poems. Bishop also sends greetings to writer Adam Plough.
