This statere comes from the CGB sale of October 17, 2012, no. 555.
Coin on a wide, hexagonal blank, in a high-alloy metal with a pleasant gray patina with bluish highlights. Vigorous strike in the center of the blank with the peripheral areas less well imprinted (on both the right and reverse) due to the shape of the blank. This type (a classic for gold) appears to be unprecedented in electrum. TTB.
