John III Sobieski (1674-1696), ort 1677 (8-1) SB, Leliwa coat of arms, mis-minted denomination, Bydgoszcz.

A rarer type of coin, for this king minted predominantly in sixpences, orts only in 1677-79 and 1684, noted vintages 1685 and 1686 are practically not found in trade.

obverse: bust of the king in robe and laurel wreath on his head, letters SB and legend in the rim JOANIII D.G.REX.POL.M.D.L.R.PR.

reverse: crowned five-field shield, on the sides the denomination (8-1) and the inscription MON.NOVA.ARG(Leliwa coat of arms)REG.POLON1677

silver, weight 5.67 grams, diameter 29 mm
