Collector's plate Hotel Ritz Madrid
White ceramic plate, decorated with a blue border and the Hotel Ritz Madrid logo in the center. Signature "Establecimientos Alvarez / Division Hosteleria / Moises Alvarez" underneath. The plate is signed with the name of Moises Alvarez - the owner of the family company GEA (Grupo de Empresas Alvarez), which in the mid-20th century was Spain's most important porcelain and ceramics manufactory: in the 1960s the company employed 5,000 workers and had its own network of stores, including in Spain's most prestigious places. In the late 1970s, the company began to decline, especially after the death of Moises Alvarez in 1975.
