"Achilleis" is 26 loose dramatic scenes, contrasted in mood, based on the themes of "The Iliad". The author replaced the traditional classical vision of Greece with a vision of heroic, primordial Greece, permeated with pessimism. The story of the siege and fall of Troy becomes the starting point for reflections on the passing of nations and cultures.
