A richly illustrated, monumental work devoted to the nature, history, ethnography, culture and art of Vilnius and the Vilnius region. Authors include: Jan Bulhak, Cezaryna Baudouin de Courtenay Ehrenkreutz, Czeslaw Jankowski, Michal K. Pawlikowski and Waclaw Gizbert-Studnicki. One of the most beautiful books about the Borderlands of the Republic, published in the interwar period. Careful typographical design by Ferdynand Ruszczyc, enriched with illustrations and embellishments by this artist, goes hand in hand with an excellent selection of illustrations, as well as countryside and documentary photographs of great artistic value (including reproductions of 104 photographs by Jan Bulhak). Luxurious publisher's binding: half leather with signboard, gilt lettering and blind embossing, top edge of pages gilt.
