"Dictionary of Polish Early and Modern Musicians" by Albert Sowinski is one of the most important works of Polish musicology. It was published in Paris in 1874 and contains biographies of Polish musicians from the 16th century to the author's contemporary times. In his work, Sowinski presented not only the biographies of the artists, but also a great deal of information about their work and influence on the development of Polish music. It is worth noting that the Dictionary was one of the first such comprehensive studies of Polish musicians to be published abroad and contributed to the growing interest in Polish culture in Europe.
