Wraps lightly rubbed and soiled, notes on back cover, minor yellowing of paper inside in places, otherwise good condition. Color cover by Stanislaw Biedrzycki. Rev. M. Pirożyński ("What to read?", Kr. 1932) characterized the author as follows: "Two elements are constantly present in Przybyszewski's work: eroticism and alcoholism. They are so strong that they obscure his ethical norms, making all objectivity impossible [...]. Ethics in Przybyszewski is a pity to find [...]. He is the unhealthiest of all unhealthy Polish writers." About "De profundis" he wrote: "the theme: incest, ending in suicide."
