Local paper yellowing (rust spots), otherwise good condition. On the facing page exlibris. French one-volume version of "Souvenir of Cracow" (Polish edition appeared in 3 volumes). A well-preserved, complete piece containing a description of the geographical location, geology, climate, population of the free city of Cracow with statistical data, description of streets and suburbs, churches, other public buildings, the university, the city's environs and their attractions. Described are Wola Justowska, Kopiec Kościuszki, Bielany, Balice, Alwernia, Krzeszowice, Czerna, Jaworzno mines, Wieliczka, Ojców, Kalwaria Zebrzydowska, Tyniec and Pieskowa Skała, among others. The last chapter is devoted to the costumes and customs of the people of Cracow. There are 12 view lithographs (including the Barbican, the Old Theater, the Collegium Maius, the observatory and botanical garden, the castle in Ojcow), a city plan and a map of the district of the free city of Cracow, 2 plates with hand-colored Cracow costumes. Woodcuts in the text depict the coats of arms of the city and the university, several small, fantastic romantic vignettes (e.g., with a sailing boat under a lighthouse). A set of engravings.
