Karl Kautsky (born October 16, 1854 in Prague, died October 17, 1938 in Amsterdam) - German-Austrian labor activist, pacifist, theoretician of democratic socialism, critic of Lenin, recognizing the Russian dictatorship of the proletariat as a misunderstanding of Marx's works. From 1883 until his death, he edited Europe's most important socialist journal, Die Neue Zeit.
