"Helicopter Pilot" - a cult Polish comic series, published in 1975-1982 by the Sport and Tourism publishing house. Its scriptwriter was Witold Jarkowski and the illustrators were Grzegorz Rosiński (episodes 1-5), Mirosław Kurzawa (6-8) and Marek Szyszko (9-10).
The series described the fate of a fighter pilot, Lieutenant Slawomir Karski, who, for health reasons, has to give up his job at the helm of a fighter jet in favor of rescue aviation in a helicopter. Flying Mi-2 helicopters together with his mechanic, platoon sergeant Kalinski, he takes part in both military operations, such as maneuvers or winter sapper operations, and civilian operations, such as helping flood victims or supporting operations during a catastrophic winter. In the background of the story there is a romantic thread - the relationship between Lieutenant Karski and journalist Barbara Tarnicka. Ultimately, however, his chosen one is Hanna, Kalinski's sister.
