GDAŃSK. resolution of mayors and councilors on August 5, 1697, on the necessity of personal service in the city guard and the prohibition of sending deputies. These practices were allowed only in the case of other military duties or could result from the guard's old age, but this had to be done with the knowledge and consent of the municipal authorities, which in turn did not exempt from the obligation to send deputies. An obligation was also imposed to close all taverns at 10 p.m. The fine for violating the ban was 10 thalers. All strangers (i.e., those from outside Gdansk) were allowed to move around after 10 pm only with a light. The penalty for breaking this ban was arrest. Condition bdb., dimensions: 430x330 mm.
