His work won in a competition distributed by the Jubilee Committee, of which Rawita-Gawronski was chairman. The open letter straightens out the numerous errors and inaccuracies made by the author of "Fighting for Freedom," according to Miniewski, and "argued the credibility of his position with a number of new accounts of his own" (PSB).
