Czartakis a hamlet of Mucharz directly bordering Świnna Poręba. The name Czartak comes from the ruins of an inn (zajazd) called Czartak that stood here. The inn stood at the intersection of the main road with a path leading to the Mucharz train station, which does not exist today, and to the forester's lodge. The inn was described by Emil Zegadłowicz in his work "Smile."
Czartak - a regionalist group of writers and painters founded in Wadowice by Emil Zegadłowicz, active between 1922 and 1928. The name was taken from dialect, meaning a lepianka, watchtower, shed made of boards. The name Czartak was also used to describe a structure located near the village of Mucharz.

Members of the group included: Edward Kozikowski, Jan Nepomucen Miller, Tadeusz Szantroch, Janina Brzostowska, Zofia Kossak-Szczucka, Jan Wiktor and several prominent artists-artists such as Julian Fałat, Wojciech Weiss, Zbigniew Pronaszko, Jan Hrynkowski.
