Eugen BIRZER [1847-1905] landscape painter born in Waldasseen. Graduated in philosophy and law from the University of Munich. He worked in Berlin for an institute of lithography, attended art school and the Academy of Fine Arts studying in the studio of Martin Wilberg, and taught art classes at Munich Polytechnic University. He initially created under the influence of Joseph Wenglein (1845-1919). Among landscape paintings, he was particularly fond of Bavarian forest landscapes, submerged in the mood of early spring or autumn. Birzer died in Munich on April 27, 1905.
