Aleksandra Jachtoma (Barchaczow 1932, lives in Warsaw) - studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow and later in Warsaw, receiving her diploma with honors in the studio of K. Tomorowicz in 1958. She was a member of the Warsaw group "Rekonesans" founded in 1963. She participated in more than 80 group exhibitions and about 30 individual exhibitions. She received the award of the Minister of Culture of Art for a lifetime of creative work (1987), the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award. Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award and the Jan Cybis Award of the Warsaw Art District. Jan Cybis Award of the Warsaw District of the Association of Polish Artists (2003). Aleksandra Jachtoma's paintings are characterized by an ascetic disciplined composition built from condensed uniform patches. The mathematical rigor in them is softened by the delicacy of color solutions emanating streaks of light. Lapidarity of geometric forms (ovals, rectangles) and uniformity of color tones give these compositions a muted poetic, even contemplative character. She is considered by critics to be an outstanding abstractionist.
