Fireman's fang

Solid single-edged nickel-plated blade (abraded with traces of corrosion) with sawtooth spine and double-sided cut, gilt brass hilt, guard with embossed decoration with fireman's helmet and crossed axes in laurel wreath, guard with embossed floral decoration, pommel in the shape of a fireman's helmet, blackened wooden handle. Wooden scabbard covered in black leather (damaged) with embossed gilt brass fittings with firefighter and other motifs. Probably Austria, 2nd half of the 19th century, length 69,5 cm. Condition 2

Condition 2, Heavy nickel-plated (rubbed, pitted) single-edged blade with sawback, fullered on both sides, gold-plated brass hilt,, guard plate with firefighter helmet and crossed axes in a laurel wreath, crossguard with relief floral decoration, pommel in the shape of a firefighter helmet, wooden grip, blackened. Black leather-covered wooden scabbard (leather damaged) with two gilt brass fittings of a chape and locket, these are also richly decorated with fire department motifs, among other things.
