Witold Pałka, after graduating from the High School of Fine Arts in Kraków, began his studies in 1947 at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in the studios of Professors Eugeniusz Eibisch, Jerzy Fedkowicz, and Wacław Taranczewski. He received his diploma in 1953. In 1955, he participated in the Young Artists’ Exhibition at the Arsenal in Warsaw. From 1965 to 1967, he was a member of the “Arkat” group. From 1966 to 1980, he collaborated with the Commission for Sacred Art and Architecture of the Diocese of Katowice. He is the author of numerous artistic projects in churches throughout the dioceses of Katowice, Bielsko, Częstochowa, Opole, and Szczecin. He has held over a dozen solo exhibitions and participated in numerous group exhibitions. Deeply connected to the artistic community of Upper Silesia, he summarized his 40-year artistic career with a retrospective exhibition at the BWA in Katowice in 1993.
