Biography
He works primarily in ceramics and photography. In 2014, he graduated with honors from the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków. That same year, he received a scholarship from the Minister of Science and Higher Education. In 2015, he began his doctoral studies at the Pedagogical University of Kraków. In addition to his academic work, he is also involved in the activities of the “Ceramika Bez Granic” association, of which he is a co-founder, and the “Vera Icon” art group, which brings together Christian artists. Jakub Niewdana has participated in numerous exhibitions in Poland and abroad. Since 2014, he has run his own ceramics studio. His works are included in numerous collections in Poland and abroad. In 2018, his first solo exhibition took place at the Grodzka Art Gallery in Kraków. The works presented there were from the animal-themed “Safari” series, inspired by his travels to distant lands. The animals created in Jakub Niewdany’s studio consistently delight viewers with their rich colors and masterful synthesis of form. The artist creates each of his designs in multiple color variations. In his works, he often combines his two passions—photography and ceramics.
