Silver medal hallmarked '875', with lion mark and maker’s mark 'RT' (which stand for Roman Tavast of Tallinn);. The award was instituted in 1923 for the Fire Service of the newly-independent nation of Estonia, the silver medal being awarded for five years’ diligent service. In 1937, the original ribbon was changed. It was made in Tallinn by Roman Tavast, by one of the most distinguished Estonian makers of orders and medals. A good example of a rare medal. Small helmet version.
Original faded worn ribbon.
