This is a fine miniature copy of the coronation regalia of Charles IV. Solid silver cast, hallmarked 900. Goldplated with color enamel.
It was made in the 1960's. It is made by Soluna, Czechoslovakian union of craftspeople.
History: Charles IV 14 May 1316-29 November 1378 Born Wencesiaus in Prague was Holy Roman Emperor from 1355 until his death. It was commissioned by Czech King Charles IV for his own coronation in the year 1347. Unlike other European crowns, mostly from later periods, the 656 year old Czech crown is not blazing with cut diamonds but rather with large uncut stones, polished but left in their natural shapes, including the oldest known ruby. The others are emeralds,sapphires and pearls, attached to a 22 carat gold cirlet mad up of a fleur de lis pattern, In reference to Charles French father. The crown, along with its accompanying scepter and orb are only shown to the public once every five years. This also came out of a very high-end estate.
