MISCHA KUBALL, born in 1959 in Düsseldorf, projected shimmering aquamarine light from the bottom of a swimming pool onto the surface of a Berlin bridge, built a glittering solar system from a disco ball and mirrors, and hung spotlights over the footprint of an old bunker hidden beneath the streets of a town in Germany. He also directed his spotlights on contemporary politics by hanging 10 of them on the red carpet in front of the Parliament building in Copenhagen, and then directed them again on viewers by installing the same object at the entrance to the museum space.... Mischa Kuball is one of the few contemporary German artists who has consistently developed his own work for more than two decades, ignoring trends in the art market.
