Obv. +CARTISCIVITAS, a cross.
Rev. a schematic head crowned to the right (tête bléso-chartraine), on the right and on the left large pellets (bezants), on both sides of the crown small dots (right barely visible).
Silver, 1.11 g, 21.0 mm. Duplessy 431; Michon VII. Grade II, a complete specimen with strong details.
Sylvain Michon declares this type as ‘extremely rare’,
certainly exaggerating. It might be discerned from the more frequent type from
the earlier century, Michon VI, with two dots at the crown, which are difficult
to observe on not so perfectly legible specimens. However, the coin is rare and
interesting.
