Olesya Tkachenko is a contemporary Ukrainian artist who works with textile materials, including cotton, wool and silk, to create works of art that are profound in meaning and hugely imaginative. She works with textiles, conducting bold experiments with shape, texture and image. Her works are "three-dimensional" combining painting, sculpture and craft. She is consistently looking for ways to recreate the feeling of natural textures, using wool thread to encourage emotional experiences. At first glance her works can appear abstract, however a deeper look reveal elements of the real world; bright fresh spring green leaves, streams of icy water and warm sunlight. Tkachenko's work conveys the textures of objects but at the same time does not focus on their materiality but rather their sensory impressions.
She is a graduate of the Lviv National Academy and her works has been exhibited around the world and many are held in private collections throughout Europe and Ukraine.
Olesia Tkachenko’s works are something from another world. Her complex tapestries inspire deep emotional responses that have attracted collectors throughout Europe. Her transformational techniques have attracted her works for several national and international exhibitions as well as participation in countless design and technique conferences. Currently based in Lviv, we were thrilled to connect with Olesia and transport three of her works to Krakow for the Fight With Art auction. This is a rare opportunity to be one of very few owners of one of these remarkable works outside of Europe.
Olesya Tkachenko to współczesna ukraińska artystka, która pracuje z materiałami tekstylnymi, w tym bawełną, wełną i jedwabiem, tworząc dzieła sztuki o głębokim znaczeniu i wielkiej wyobraźni. Pracuje z tkaninami, przeprowadzając odważne eksperymenty z kształtem, fakturą i obrazem. Jej prace są "trójwymiarowe" łączące malarstwo, rzeźbę i rzemiosło. Konsekwentnie poszukuje sposobów na odtworzenie wrażenia naturalnych faktur, wykorzystując wełnianą nić do pobudzania doznań emocjonalnych. Na pierwszy rzut oka jej prace mogą wydawać się abstrakcyjne, jednak głębsze spojrzenie odsłania elementy świata realnego: jasna, świeża wiosenna zieleń liści, strumienie lodowatej wody i ciepłe światło słoneczne.Tkachenko w swoich pracach oddaje fakturę przedmiotów, ale jednocześnie nie skupia się na ich materialności, ale raczej na ich zmysłowych wrażeniach.
Jest absolwentką Lwowskiej Akademii Narodowej, a jej prace były wystawiane na całym świecie. Wiele z nich znajduje się w prywatnych kolekcjach w całej Europie i na Ukrainie.
