Very nice denarius minted in Rome in 46 BC by one of the monetary triumvirs (tres viri monetales) that year, Manius Cordius Rufus.
Roman Republic
Me Cordius Rufus (46 BC), Denarius 46 BC, Mint Rome

Reverse: cupid on a dolphin facing right, below MN CORDIVS
Weight 3.9 g
The offered denarius was minted by one of the monetary triumvirs issued by Caesar. The relationship with the famous dictator is evidenced by the symbolism associated with Venus - the grandmother of the Julian family, who was the grandmother of Julus - the son of Aeneas and the progenitor of Julius. At the same time, the exceptional status of Cordius denarius is also expressed in the legend S (enatus) C (onsulto) on the obverse, indicating that it is most likely an additional issue, probably a war issue.
