Adomas Galdikas (1893-1969) was one of the most prominent Lithuanian artists of the 20th century, graphic
Lithuanian graphic artists, graphic designers and stage designers. His work ranged from painting to stage design, from printmaking to stained glass. Galdikas belonged to the so-called "Ars" group (the "Ars" artists' group, active in interwar Kaunas). His paintings are characterised by their decorative quality, rich colour palette and expressive brushstrokes. During the interwar period, he often depicted nature, landscapes, symbolic motifs, combining modernist ideas with national elements. His works have shades of impressionism, expressionism and art deco.
