Biography
Andrzej Wojtczak is a locksmith-mechanic by training. He made his first sculptures from clay when he was still a child. He is a co-founder of the so-called Kutno sculpture center. At the end of the 1970s, the artist established cooperation with Cepelia, thanks to which his works reached a wider audience. Wojtczak has been a member of the Association of Folk Artists since 1983.
In his sculptures, Wojtczak masterfully conveys the mood of the figures he carves and creates multi-faceted, complex, mostly vertical compositions. The artist was one of the first to introduce such solutions as triptychs. The artist's work gives vent to the rich and colorful world of his imagination. Wojtczak's sculptures are colorful, original, surprising and inspiring.
