HAC Eclectic Table Clock
Wood, glass, enamel: 28 cm x 25 cm x 16 cm
The clock was manufactured in Germany by HAC, Hamburg Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik (Hamburg American Clock Company). The clock bears no CB mark and dates from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Engraved numbers: 3157 85.
The clock is equipped with a single-hammer spiral gong, wound using the included key, which produces an elegant and clear chime. It features a removable top piece
The clock is fully functional and comes with its original keys and pendulum.

Hamburg-Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik (HAC) was one of the most important German clock manufacturers at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The company was founded in 1883 as a continuation of the earlier firm Landenberger & Lang, established by Paul Landenberger—a former associate and son-in-law of the Junghans family. Thanks to modern production methods inspired by American innovations and a wide range of products—from mantel and wall clocks to alarm clocks—HAC quickly established a strong market position. In 1891, its most recognizable trademark, the Pfeilkreuz (crossed arrows), was registered. In the first decades of the 20th century, the company grew rapidly; however, increasing competition and the economic crisis of the 1920s led to closer cooperation with Junghans. Around 1930, HAC was completely absorbed by Junghans, thus ending its independent operations. Following the acquisition, some of the movements bore the markings of both companies simultaneously.
