Barbara Munzer was born in Lodz and graduated from the State Higher School of Fine Arts there. Diploma - in the field of clothing and jewelry in 1965.
After graduation, she painted paintings and designed applied graphics,soon she also began designing and making jewelry and props for film, television and fashion houses. At that time, whole sets of ornaments were created for the collections of "Polish Fashion" (participation in shows in 1968 , 1970-75) and "Telimena" (participation in shows in 1969-73).
She participated in many group exhibitions, at home and abroad, and had a number of author shows in Lodz, Warsaw, Krakow, Plock, Amsterdam, Arnhem, Bochum Dusseldorf, Essen, Borken, among others. Over time, fascinated by the fleeting beauty of nature, she began to fix fragile insects (butterflies, spiders, dragonflies) in metal in increasingly large sizes, giving them the names of well-known figures from the world of music and literature. This is how the world of insects enchanted in spatial objects was created.
Then he creates new visions from metal - robes, the world of women's fashion of different eras and countries. In these gowns she captures the charm and character of famous female figures.
It turned out that her jewelry can not only be an attraction of a fashion show, but also perfectly decorate interiors.
Barbara Munzer's works can be found in the Mazovian Museum in Plock and in private collections, at home and abroad.

And here is what she herself says about her works ("My artistic biography" - catalog to the Exhibition- Warsaw, 1989.): "Of all decorative forms, I was most fond of the necklace...(which) over time reached such impressive proportions that, hung on the wall, it began to live a life of its own. I found my own language and new possibilities for deeper expression. Thus were born dragonflies, peacocks, butterflies - SPACE OBJECTS.
Perversity prompts me to create things that are fragile and delicate in nature, from hard materials, the extreme opposite of nature. I am not at all offended and negatively classified when they say that my works are pure Art Nouveau. I love the goldsmithing of Rene Laliquea and Carl Farberge, the interiors of Mackintosch, the drawings and paintings of Beardsley, Klimt, Mucha. I love the atmosphere of that time - fin de siecleu- in which were born: Art Nouveau, the femme fatale, the dragonfly woman, the peacock woman, the feminine-finks, the atmosphere of mystery, the arabesque of lines, the color of stained glass. Perhaps this is why there is a preponderance of female names in my works: Marie Stuart, Sarah Bernhardt, Madame Pompadour."
