Chateau Quintus is the latest addition to Domaine Clarence Dillon's impressive portfolio. It aims to showcase the unique character of the St-Emilion appellation. Wines are created here with great care and using all the experience of the owners, who also manage the famous chateaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. The owners' ambitions are sure to take Quintus to the group of the appellation's top producers.
2018 is a vintage of two different halves, a heavily rainy first and a hot and sunny second. The fast and even growth of the vines at the Chateau Quintus vineyard was disrupted by rainfall, but a good second half of the year eventually allowed the harvest of very good grapes. The wine from this vintage is full-bodied, juicy, expressive, but hides a lot of elegance, giving it a classic shape.
72% merlot and28% cabernet franc, which adds pleasant aromas of bay leaf and smoked appetizers.
