Good condition. Polish settlements in Italy were established thanks to General Anders in July 1945. They housed Polish refugees released from concentration camps and from forced labor in Germany. They were guided by the laws and statutes of the Polish Republic, thus creating a miniature free Poland on Italian soil. In December 1945, postage stamps, philatelic blocks and a philatelic carton of the Polish Settlement Post Office were issued; proceeds from their sale went to help the refugees. 8676/74
