The portrait is taken up to his knees, in profile, standing supporting both hands on the back of an armchair. Gilded inscription on the lower margin of the backing: "Mieczkowski in Lviv". On the reverse a gilded advertising vignette of the establishment. Photo glued on original cardboard backing. Nearly perfect condition.
P. Mieczkowski - in 1872-1887 the owner of a studio at 5 Panska St. in Lviv. His atelier used infrequent decoration of photographs by gilding the slanted frame and gilded inscriptions. The next owner of the establishment at 5 Panska Street was Dawid Mazur.
