Przyłuska I 4; CKZK 3, 1768. The whole is preceded by a title page, a list of maps and county towns, and a preface and "general remarks", each map is accompanied by explanatory text. Title and text also in German and French. Compiled for the Polish territories within the 1772 borders, including East Prussia and most of Silesia."The first thematic atlas by E. Romer, considered the prototype of Polish national atlases" (Przyłuska). It was received enthusiastically by the Poles, while the Germans considered the overstepping of the borders of pre-partition Poland as high treason, demanded the confiscation of the edition and sued the author. The verdict was favorable to Romer, but the export of the work beyond the borders of Austria-Hungary was prohibited. A title removed from the original publisher's portfolio was pasted on the front cover of the portfolio. Minor stains, good condition.
